Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the services provided by DBR Equestrian ("we", "us", or "our"). By using our website, or services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.

1. Scope of Services

1.1 We provide the Services as described on our website, or in any written agreement between you and us. The exact features, limitations, and pricing of the Services may be updated from time to time.

1.2 We may modify, or discontinue any part of the Services at our discretion, provided that we will use reasonable efforts to give you prior notice of any material changes that negatively affect you.

2. User Responsibilities

2.1  You are responsible for ensuring that all information you provide to us is accurate, complete, and kept up to date.

3. Changes to These Terms

4.1 We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top or bottom of this page.

4.2 Your continued use of the Services after any changes to the Terms have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

By using our Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Indemnity and Limitation of Liability

Welcome to DBR Equestrian. By enrolling in our riding lessons/sessions, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the following Terms and Conditions, which govern your participation in our riding lessons in accordance with the laws of the State of Queensland and the federal laws of Australia. If you do not agree with these Terms and Conditions, please do not enrol in our riding lessons.

1. Rider's Responsibility

1.1. All riders must abide by the rules and regulations of DBR Equestrian, including but not limited to wearing appropriate riding attire, following instructions from our instructors and staff, and treating our horses and facilities with respect.

1.2. Riders must disclose any medical conditions, disabilities, or allergies that may affect their ability to safely participate in riding lessons. DBR Equestrian reserves the right to refuse participation in lessons if it is determined that it may pose a risk to the rider's health or safety.

1.3. Riders must have a level of physical fitness and ability appropriate for the type of riding lessons they are enrolling in, as determined by DBR Equestrian . Riders should consult with their physician before enrolling in riding lessons if they have any concerns about their health or fitness.

2. Liability and Waiver of Liability

2.1. Horseback riding is a potentially dangerous activity that carries inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, injuries, accidents and even death. Riders voluntarily assume all risks associated with participating in riding lessons/sessions at DBR Equestrian .

2.2. DBR Equestrian, its owners, instructors, staff, and volunteers shall not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage suffered by riders, their property, or any third parties, arising from or in connection with the participation in riding lessons, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

2.3. Riders, or their legal guardians if under 18 years of age, are required to sign a liability waiver before participating in riding lessons/sessions, releasing DBR Equestrian from any and all liability for injuries or damages incurred during the lesson or while on the premises.

3. Booking and Payment

3.1. All bookings for riding lessons/sessions must be made in advance by contacting us directly. Lessons/sessions are subject to availability and may require a deposit or full payment at the time of booking.

3.2. Cancellations made by the rider must be made in writing or by contacting DBR Equestrian directly. Cancellation fees may apply, and will be outlined at the time of booking.

3.3. Payment for riding lessons must be made in full prior to the start of the lesson/session (courses at the beginning of term) unless otherwise arranged with DBR Equestrian . Failure to make payment may result in the cancellation of the lesson/session.

3.4. Payments are non-refundable- make up sessions can be arranged if a session is missed (T&C apply)

4. Privacy

4.1. DBR Equestrian collects and stores personal information of riders in accordance with applicable privacy laws. This information may be used for the purpose of administering riding lessons/sessions and communicating with riders about our services.

4.2. Riders may request access to their personal information held by DBR Equestrian and may request for any inaccuracies to be corrected, in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1. The content on DBR Equestrian website, including but not limited to logos, trademarks, text, images, and videos, are the intellectual property of DBR Equestrian and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

5.2. Riders may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or use any of the content on DBR Equestrian website without prior written consent from DBR Equestrian.

6. Confidentiality

6.1. Riders may have access to confidential information during their participation in the riding lessons/sessions, including but not limited to trade secrets, training techniques, and business practices of DBR Equestrian.

6.2. Riders agree to keep all confidential information disclosed during the riding lessons/session confidential and not to disclose or use such information for any purpose other than their participation in riding lessons/session.

7. Personal Protective Equipment Requirement

7.1 We recommend an Australian-approved helmet be worn whilst riding. The helmet must be properly fitted using a chin strap and any helmets that have had a significant impact which has compromised the efficacy of the helmet, must not be worn. Helmets are recommended to be less than 5 years old from the date of manufacture.

7.2 Appropriately heeled and soled riding boots (smooth sole) must be worn at all times. The Rider is responsible for having the appropriate footwear to participate in riding activities.

7.3 Clothing must be appropriate to weather conditions and it is recommended to wear long pants and sun-safe attire.

7.4 Any jumping sessions require the rider to wear a safety riding vest manufactured for cross country jumping. 

8. InstructorDiscretion

8.1 At any time it is at the absolute discretion of the Instructor at DBR Equestrian to:

  • Revoke its approval for the rider(s) and horse(s) to attend or participate in an activity
  • Adjust and change gear on horse(s) during an appointment time if the instructor feels necessary
  • Adjust/advice to change horses diet if felt necessary by the instructor/owner (Agistment)
  • Advise/refer equine health practitioners such as Chiro/farrier/vet visits if necessary (Agistment or use of own horse)

Acknowledgement and Declaration

I declare

  • I will accept and follow reasonable directions from the Instructor

I am aware that activities involving horses can be dangerous and unpredictable and that I can be injured or killed. I accept all risks of personal injury, death or property damage to myself or caused to others.

I am aware that I may be personally liable for injury or damage to others' horses, people or property that is caused by myself or my horse(s)

Rules and Regulations

By using our services, you agree to follow these rules and regulations. They are designed to protect you, other customers, and our team, and to ensure a safe, respectful, and reliable environment for everyone.

1. Acceptable Behavior

  • Treat all staff, customers, and partners with courtesy and respect at all times.
  • Follow all posted instructions, guidelines, and staff directions promptly to your best ability.
  • Provide accurate, up-to-date information when requested by our team.

2. Unacceptable Behavior

  • No abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or harassing language or conduct.
  • No misrepresentation, or attempts to deceive our staff or other clients.
  • No damage, misuse, or unauthorized access to our property or data.
  • No interference with the experience, safety, or rights of other clients.

3. Safety Rules (If Applicable)

  • Follow all safety signs, instructions, and emergency procedures without delay.
  • Use equipment, facilities, and services only as intended and as instructed.
  • Report hazards, accidents, or unsafe behavior to staff immediately.
  • Do not bring prohibited items, dangerous substances, or weapons onto our premises.
  • Do not attempt repairs, modifications, or technical work unless expressly authorized.

We reserve the right to update these rules and regulations from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

Payments and Refunds

All fees are due in full on the date specified onFlyers, websites or other booking communication, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Payment must be received at least 48h prior to booking date. We accept cash, osko payments and bank transfer ( please be aware that bank transfer can take a few days to process). 

All payments are final and non-refundable. We do not provide refunds or credits for partial periods or unused services, unless explicitly stated in a separate written agreement.

 If you wish to cancel, you may do so at any time by contacting our team. Cancellations made by you less than 24h prior to session date, you will automatically forfeit your payment and won't be able to get a makeup session. Cancellations by us (due to weather or safety regards etc), will always have a scheduled makeup session available. If you for any reason won't be able to make the makeup session provided and are not communicating prior to us that this is the case, you automatically forfeit your payment and won't be able to have another makeup session. If communicated prior to us, we will arrange with you a different make up session. 


In the event of a late or failed payment, we may charge you a late fee of $25 per day ,until the outstanding amount is settled. If payment remains unpaid for an extended period, we reserve the right to terminate your bookings and participation and pursue any remedies available under applicable law.
